Ryan Minten started studying music at the age of 7, learning piano in his hometown’s Music for Young Children program. When he started high school, he took the grade 9 band method class and learned to play the trombone. Ryan instantly fell in love with the instrument and continued taking music classes throughout high school. He also joined his school’s concert and jazz bands and formed a brass trio that he performed with throughout his grade 12 year.
Ryan currently studies at Wilfrid Laurier University working to attain his Bachelor of Music in Music Education. He has performed with the Cambridge Symphony Orchestra and Kitchener-Waterloo Youth Symphony Orchestra as well as Laurier’s Wind Orchestra and Symphony Orchestra. He is also a member of the orchestra for FUSE (previously Vera Causa Opera), a community organization dedicated to making the arts more widely available and accessible to all. Ryan is very excited to share his experiences and knowledge and help others to grow in their love of music as much as he has.
