• Bandology – More music for more kids

Band Camp

Bandology’s annual Band Camp is a week-long day camp for keen music students in grades 7-12 who want to improve their musical skills in the summer.

Our 6th annual Band Camp runs July 11-15, 2022, in Oakville, serving all of Halton and Peel regions. Registration now open!

New for 2022! Band Camp Grand River is coming to Breslau, serving Kitchener/Waterloo/Guelph and runs July 18-22 at St. John’s-Kilmarnock School.

Led by some of the best conductors, clinicians and music teachers in southern Ontario, campers enjoy using top-notch music facilities to participate in warm-ups and chorales, break-out into sectionals and small groups, and rehearse as a full concert band. There’s also lots of fun with games, camp projects and team-building activities. At the end of the week, campers have a final day pizza party while preparing for Music and Mocktails, a free mini-concert for parents and friends.

Ryan Meeboer is back with Bandology as Music Director for our sixth Band Camp in Halton! Click here to learn more about Ryan.

Dorothy Vreeswyk-Kidd is Bandology’s first Music Director for Band Camp Grand River! Click here to learn more about Dorothy.

Not ready to play instruments? No problem! We know it’s been a LONG time for some students – some school music programs haven’t used instruments since March of 2020. For those who want a fun music experience WITHOUT being part of the band, we’ve got you covered! Our Music Camp stream has tons of fun music activities, games and learning, with special emphasis on drumline, vocal and hand percussion, plus the opportunity to create your own small ensembles, all without the stress of playing in the band.

Campers bring their own instruments; percussion equipment is provided. No instruments are required for campers who choose the Music Camp stream. Don’t have your own instrument? Don’t worry – click here for details of our partnership with Long and McQuade.

Band Camp Oakville is $395 for the week. Band Camp Grand River is launching this year at $350 for the week. Before and after care is available for an additional charge. Students bring a nut-free lunch and snacks. Camp spaces are limited, so early registration is recommended. Click here to register. Click here for camp locations.

For campers with financial challenges, we have partnered with local community funding organizations and private donors to help subsidize camp fees. Please don’t hesitate to email us at info@bandology.ca for more details.

Think you are a bit too old to be a camper but have lots of experience and expertise to offer? Apply to become a music mentor! Open to students in grades 11 and up who have lots of music/camp experience. Click here to learn more.

Have kids too young for Band Camp? We’ve got you covered with Band Camp Junior, for kids in grades 1-6. Click here to check it out!
