Donate An Instrument

Have a used instrument collecting dust in the basement? Donate it to Bandology!

If you have a concert band instrument, we’ll get it fixed up and loan it out to a keen music student in need as part of our Instrument Lending Library. Unfortunately, we do not have the storage facilities or resources to accept every instrument, especially those that are older or in need of a lot of refurbishment.

If you have an instrument you would like to donate, please reach out to info@bandology.ca with information about the instrument. The more details you are able to provide, the quicker we can determine whether we are able to accept it. Details can include: the condition of the instrument, the year the instrument was bought, how often it’s been played. An accompanying photo is also helpful.

We are especially in need of:

  • Alto saxophones
  • Trumpets and trombones (brass and plastic beginner ‘pBone’ versions)
  • Handheld percussion gear (ex. cowbell, triangle etc.)
  • Ukuleles

Email info@bandology.ca to inquire about donating.

String instruments?

String instruments typically belong in orchestras and you don’t often see them in concert bands. They have different needs than most wind and brass instruments. Any donation of string instruments may be donated to Bandology’s partner organizations that can make better use of them. If you have a guitar or violin or anything else with strings, please let us know and we will figure out next steps.

Pianos?

Pianos are not concert band instruments and, unfortunately, we don’t have any facilities to house pianos nor funds for moving and tuning them. However, tag us on social media with details about the instrument including pictures and we’ll happily share info on free pianos to our followers.
