How to Know If Camp is Right for Your Kid

Bandology welcomes campers with special needs to our camps. 

As of 2026, we have introduced a new program of inclusion and support to help to tailor necessary accommodations for each individual child as needed. Our goal is to create a collaborative environment for your child while having fun and making music together with peers. 

How are we evolving to accommodate your kid?

• Introducing new staff training on emotional regulation and how to accommodate kids with specific needs
• Bringing in fidget toys as well as tools to reduce noise for campers who may be more sensitive to audio-sensory overload
• Adjusting programming by creating tailored plans for campers with specific needs
• We acknowledge that parents are the experts on their own children and look forward to collaborating through a new support needs questionnaire

If your child needs extra assistance and has a support person they can bring with them, please let us know.

Our camper to staff ratios are much higher than typical camps, usually 5:1 which allows us the opportunity to work with campers with special needs. If your child requires individualized care, please reach out to us at camp@bandology.ca in advance of registering so we can discuss together how we can accommodate those needs during the week.

We encourage open communication to best support every camper. Please share any behavioural and support needs in our Support Needs Questionnaire at the time of registration, so we can work together to meet your child’s needs during camp.

Please note: If we do not receive this information in advance and find that we are unable to provide appropriate support, it may result in participant removal, and in such cases, no refunds or credits will be issued.
