Bandology’s Summer Band Camp is a week-long day camp for keen music students in grades 7-12 who want to improve their instrumental music skills in the summer.
July 8-12, 2019 – registration now open
We have been lucky to get some of the best conductors, clinicians and music teachers in the GTA to join us at Band Camp. Read about our amazing faculty.
Held at a local Oakville high school, Band Camp provides a fun opportunity to advance music skills in the middle of summer for students who are keen musicians and are involved in concert bands in their local high school or junior high. Not a rock band camp, Band Camp provides a concert band experience.
Led by professional musicians and award-winning music educators, campers participate in warm-ups and chorales, break-out into sectionals and small groups, and come together as a massed band to perform a mini-concert on the final day of camp.
There’s also time for fun team-building games and activities.
Held in the beautiful new music room at King’s Christian Collegiate in north Oakville campers enjoy using top-notch music facilities, plus have fun with games and activities.
At the end of the week, campers have a final day pizza party while preparing for Music and Mocktails, a free mini-concert for parents and friends.
Campers must bring their own instruments; percussion equipment is provided. Don’t have your own instrument? Don’t worry – we have partnered with Long and McQuade who will arrange a rental instrument for the week, and even have it waiting at band camp for you.
Think you are a bit too old to be a camper but have lots of experience and expertise to offer? Apply to become a music mentor! Open to students in grades 11 and up who have lots of music/camp experience. Click here to learn more.
Cost is $395 for the week. Before and after care is available for an additional charge. Students should pack a nut-free lunch and snacks. Camp spaces are limited, so register today!
For campers with financial challenges, we have partnered with local community funding organizations such as the Halton Learning Foundation. Please contact us for more details.
