Cindy Gollinger

Cindy, born in Nova Scotia, started playing piano when she was eight then decided that she wanted to also try out the saxophone. After moving to Burlington, she began playing in the Burlington Teen Tour Band. Cindy majored in music education at Western University and completed a Bachelor of Education at Windsor.

For 25 years Cindy played with the Northdale Concert Band in Toronto as well as the Toronto Wind Orchestra. She has also taught piano, saxophone and clarinet in her private studio for more than thirty years. Currently Cindy is playing clarinet in the Oakville Symphony, a Dixie band, the Oakville Chamber Orchestra and the Oakville Wind Orchestra. She also plays saxophone with the Sophisticated Swing big band and the Silver Swing big band, of which she is also the co-conductor. Cindy has also performed with the Kerr St. Big Band, George Arnone Big band, George Rose Big Band, Mississauga Pops concert band and the West End Jazz orchestra.

For the past twenty years Cindy has also performed on flute, saxophone, clarinet and oboe in the orchestra pit of numerous musicals including Guys and Dolls, Chicago, Cabaret, Something Rotten, Legally Blond and many others. Cindy considers herself very lucky to be able to live a life filled with music, family and friends.
