Bandology was established as a social enterprise in January 2017 and transitioned to a federally registered non-profit in August 2018.
Lisa Michaels is a self-employed marketing consultant and serial entrepreneur who has run multiple businesses over the past 20 years. With a B.A. from York University and further studies in media arts and corporate communications, she has volunteered with the Pan Am Games, Oakville Waterfront Festival, Burlington Youthfest and served as an English language instructor in Spain.

Peter VanDuzer works in management with the Rona/Lowe’s chain of home improvement stores. Peter graduated from Western University (Economics) and studied computer science at McMaster University. Peter has been volunteering for children since 1985, as a board member of Big Brothers of Hamilton and as a long-term member of the Lawson Foundation (member of the impact investment committee). He has volunteered for 20 years with the local school board, including co-founding AMP, a parent group supporting music, in 2012.

Kathy Halliday managed top-level global management consulting interests for 30 years before taking early retirement and returning to her artistic roots in writing (BA, University of Toronto) and painting (OCADU). She paints by commission and serves on the Board of the Women’s Musical Club of Toronto Foundation, where she assists with Marketing and Communication, as well as the board of the Canadian Music Awards.

Julianna Rutledge has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Mount Allison University in New Brunswick, with a major in English and minor in History. She had a full slate of extra curricular music in high school, including as co-leader of the student-run school choir. At Mount Allison, she participated two on-campus choirs, reported for the university newspaper, and spent an extended semester abroad studying in the Netherlands and travelling to 14 countries. Having participated in a Writers Workshop with Humber College, she is now at work on her first novel.

Brian Vaughan has worked in the hotel industry for 25 years. Music has been a constant through Brian’s life, from children’s choirs to earning his BFA in Acting from the University of Windsor and performing professionally. These days, you can occasionally hear him on stage with local community theatres and voicing multiple characters in “The Red Panda Adventures” podcast at DecoderRingTheatre.com. A husband and father, Brian is excited to be part of Bandology and to support their work advocating and providing music education.

Tracey Durand is a business lawyer who’s worked with clients across various industries for over 20 years. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Western University and a Bachelor of Laws from Osgoode Hall Law School, York University. She was a proud band member during her high school years and a strong supporter of music and arts education for children. Her past non-profit work includes serving as Executive Director and Board Member of the Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation in Canada. As a mother to two budding artists, one a regular Play A Gig performer, Tracey is excited to join Bandology.

Brian Vincent is an award-winning music educator and conductor. After earning his B.A. in music performance from the University of Toronto, Brian spent more than a decade as a music teacher at T.A. Blakelock High School in Oakville, where he conducted the bands to multiple provincial and national gold medals. Brian received the Keith Mann Outstanding Band Director Award from Musicfest Canada in 2017 as well as two Inspire Awards from the Halton District School Board. Brian currently serves as teacher and band conductor for International Community School in Addis Ababa, Ethopia.
