Amy Abbott

Amy Abbott graduated from Queen’s University with a Bachelor of Music, majoring in Saxophone. She completed her teacher’s college at the University of Wollongong in Australia, which provided many opportunities to learn more about education in our global communities. While abroad, Amy also taught English in Beijing, China.

Amy has been a part of many musical avenues available within the Halton District School Board and has spent the last several years as a Music Teacher at T.A. Blakelock High School. She has also served as an English teacher and guidance counsellor, and always encourages her students to experience new and interesting opportunities.

Her experiential teaching style has taken her students to Quebec City, Montreal and China, in addition to festivals and competitions around Ontario. Amy has also been involved with the Interprovincial Music Camp (IMC), held every August at Camp Manitou in the Parry Sound area.
