Hey there! We’re glad you are interested in joining us as a music mentor at Band Camp. We’re looking forward to you sharing your excitement and expertise with our registered campers.
Here are some details for you:
To be accepted as a music mentor, you must complete a application form that includes your contact details and health info – please click here. We also need your parent to complete the policies form – please click here.
Band camp starts at 9 a.m. when you’ll greet your music mentee and their family and then start the day with a half hour of warm-up and practice. After that, visiting clinicians and guests will do a session until around 11:30.
Afternoon rehearsals start at 1 p.m. and run until 4 p.m. Please try to stick around long enough to update your mentee’s parents on the day’s progress.
Note: We understand that some people will have summer jobs and can’t come for the entire week. Please be sure to indicate your availability on the application form.
Band camp is held at King’s Christian Collegiate, at 528 Burnhamthorpe Road West, just off Neyagawa north of Dundas. The music room entrance is the first one you see as you enter the parking lot – look for the signs.
After band camp is over, you’ll be sent a letter with your volunteer hours that you can give to your school guidance office in September.
